Background for designing the Wavers app’s questions (Waves)
Based on the WHO and the National Board of Health’s definition of mental health, Wavers’ digital well-being tool – the Wavers app – takes into account both the individual’s mental well-being and his or her social relationships with others. Wavers’ main focus is to boost the feeling of being part of a given community / the general community, reduce dissatisfaction, and provide all the best conditions to be able to handle everyday challenges and stress.
The categories and questions in the Wavers app are based on validated scientific research and theory, and are designed with inspiration from the well-known well-being indexes WHO-5 and WEMWBS, and on the basis of scientific health-promoting theories.
